Transfer your existing mobile number
If your existing number is important to
you and you would like to transfer ("port")
it to your new mobile and Network provider
then we will help you make this process
as simple and easy as possible.
You can transfer your existing number as long as you are changing to a different network. It doesn't matter whether you are currently on Pay as you Go, an "upfront" package or a "contract" package.
Providing you are outside your contractual obligations to your existing Network or Service provider then you can request from them a "Porting Authorisation Code" or "PAC" ref from the Customer Services dept of your current Network/Service Provider (this is normally made up of 3 letters and 6 numbers).
There is no charge made by either we or the new Network/Service Provider you are transferring your existing no' to. However there may be an "administration charge" from your current Network/Service Provider. Please ensure you check with your existing provider first.
If you do wish to transfer an existing number this MUST be stated on your order form. We are unable to process a transfer / porting request after your order has been processed based on the supply of a new mob no'.
IMPORTANT - do not "cancel" your existing contract as disconnected numbers cannot subsequently be transferred. By providing your PAC number to your new chosen network this will initiate the cancellation process with your current Network/Service Provider. Due to the complexities and the reliance on your current & new network chosen, we can not accept any responsibility for failed / delayed number transfers.
The process by which your number is transferred is dependant on the Network you wish to transfer your number to.

Once the transfer has taken place your ported number will function as your voice-calling number and your temporary number will function as the video-calling number. To receive Video calls you will need to provide your temporary 3 number to people wishing to call you as Video Calling will not work via your 'ported/transferred' existing number.
When porting to 3 please note the following: Once the transfer has taken place your ported number will function as your voice-calling number and your temporary number will function as the video-calling number. To receive Video calls you will need to provide your temporary 3 number to people wishing to call you as Video Calling will not work via your 'ported/transferred' existing number.
Transferring your number to Vodafone or O2
If you require your existing mobile number to be ported onto your new contract, you must inform us at point of purchase stating your existing number and PAC code (this can be obtained from your current network provider). We will despatch your new mobile & SIM as normal along with starting the porting process. Your existing number will then be ported and made 'Live' on your new SIM in approximately 7 to 10 working days of receipt of your new mobile.PLEASE NOTE - Please be aware that because your mobile number has to be released from your current network before it can be connected to your new network, you may be without service for up to 1 day. Additional services such as voicemail and text messaging may also take up to 2 days to be enabled once your number has been transferred. You are able to continue using your existing mobile/SIM until the number is ported.
If you are porting from O2 Direct to O2 CPWS then it is likely that your port will activate on your original SIM Card. For this reason please do not discard your original SIM Card.
